Home Visits

Doctor's bagWe would ask patients to attend the surgery wherever possible, as the doctors are able to see many more people at our surgery than out visiting. If you need a visit the receptionist will ask for details of the patient and his/her condition. She will also need a contact number in case the GP wishes to telephone before going out to visit. This information will help us to plan our schedule and give priority to the most urgent cases.

Home Visit Policy

The surgery policy for home visits is that all children will be expected to be brought in to the surgery. We can arrange for them to be seen in a side room which will ensure they are seen as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, we must enforce that lack of transport is not a valid reason for a visit.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
